Backyard Naturalist: Pollinator Gardens

This month, we’re kicking off a new seminar series, Backyard Naturalist, where we’ll take a closer look at nature-inspired topics, such as native plants and bird-friendly landscapes.

Join us for our first seminar in the series, Pollinator Gardens, lead by Scott Evans from Nebraska Extension in Douglas and Sarpy Counties. In this seminar, Scott will tell us about the different plants we can incorporate into our landscapes for pollinators to use as food and shelter throughout the year. He’ll also explain the importance of providing water sources, making thoughtful pesticide choices, and choosing conservation practices that benefit pollinators, such as leaving some garden clean-up until spring. With Scott’s expert tips, you may even be able to certify your space as an official Nebraska Pollinator Habitat through Nebraska Extension!

Scott is a wealth of knowledge and an engaging speaker, so this will be a fun and informative morning.
