For our team, the holiday season is special for so many reasons. There’s a whole new set of beautiful plants to love on – Norfolk Island pine, poinsettia, or Christmas cactus, to name a few. We get to work with incredible products and décor while surrounded by the intoxicating scent of fresh-cut wintergreens. Then, there’s the unique chance to say hi to an actual reindeer in the middle of a work-day.
But as enjoyable as these experiences are, the real reason the holiday season is so exciting for us is the opportunity we have to share it with all of you. Each year, we look forward to the smiles, the warm greetings, and the joy you bring into our store when you visit. We’re honored that so many of you have made us a part of your own Christmas traditions. And we’re excited to welcome you for another beautiful holiday season.
Capturing Memories
There are so many of your holiday traditions we love being a part of – like picking out a fresh-cut tree, the perfect ornament, or a new wreath for the front door. But, we can’t tell you how delighted we are to see how many of you choose our store as the setting for your holiday photos – whether it’s in front of our 1956 Ford pickup full of cacti and succulents or with our 1969 Volkswagen tucked within our forest of fresh-cut Christmas trees. We love to see so many families finding the perfect photo opportunities throughout our store – among the plants in our greenhouse, in front of the decorated trees in our Christmas shop, with our 10-foot-tall poinsettia tower, or in front of its tropical counterpart, the phenomenal bromeliad tree.
If you need suggestions, just ask and we’ll point the way. (And if you need someone to hold the camera, we can help with that too.) There’s no special permission needed – just come with your camera. Whether it’s a professional photographer snapping the shots or just Dad with his phone, we’re excited to have you here – and to know that our beautiful spaces will be part of your Christmas memories.
Gathering for Special Events
Over the years, we’ve also loved seeing so many of you and your loved ones join us for our holiday events. An especially anticipated annual event is the visit from two of Santa’s own reindeer – this year, we’re excited to welcome Dasher and Dancer to our store. We love having them here, and even more, we love seeing the smiles and wonder they inspire on your families’ faces. And soon, we welcome Santa Claus himself for a series of Members’ visits in December. Santa’s chair is situated in a beautiful space with a vintage fireplace, a decorated Christmas tree, and other details to make him feel right at home.
Our DIY decorating demonstrations are another tradition we look forward to every year. Decorating our store for the season is always exciting – but helping you create the perfect holiday in your own home is even better. So, we hope you’ll join us on November 17th for DIY: Custom Holiday Planters where container designer Jenny Beukenhorst will show you how to extend the beauty of your outdoor planters through the holiday and winter seasons. And on November 24th, we’ll take the decorating inside with DIY: Tree-Decorating, an inspiring demonstration in which floral designer Rhonda Hanson will share the step-by-step layering process she uses to transform unadorned lifelike trees into the exquisite Christmas trees you see throughout our store.

The holiday season is a wonderful time, especially when it’s shared with good friends.
